Harvey Mackay is the famous author of the bestseller, Swim With The Sharks Without Being Eaten Alive. He is the founder (in 1960) and chairman of the MackayMitchell Envelope Company in Minneapolis, a professional speaker and a nationally syndicated columnist.
Mr. Mackay has assembled a series of "golden nugget" life lessons in You Haven't Hit Your Peak Yet!
There are 27 sections, of consisting of 106 short, digestible lessons, collected from his blog and his syndicated column.
Mr. Mackay has collected many stories to illustrate his points, making this book a very easy read.
For example, a little girl insisted that her mother read her a story.
Her mother tore out the back page of a magazine, with a full-page picture of the world. She cut it into pieces and told her daughter, "When you put this picture back together, I'll read you a story."
In a few minutes, the little girl gave her mother the reassembled picture. Her mother said, "How did you do this so fast?"
The little girl said, "On the back of the page was a picture of a little girl. You see, Mommy, when I got the little girl together, the whole world came together."
At the end of each lesson is a brief summary, called Mackay's Moral.
You Haven't Hit Your Peak Yet! could be a valuable graduation gift, if the graduate will read it. If the graduate reads one lesson a day, it will take just over 3 months. Three months of positive programming of the mind, contributing to a successful outlook on life and developing good business habits and skills.
What could you possibly learn from this 92-year-old businessperson? A lot.
